Cable Design Hat

Featuring the same neat ribbed cable pattern that I used on my Cable Design Handwarmers this is a comfortable and relaxed fitting hat which can be knit in the round or knit flat. The yarn used is Shades of Weardale Merino 4ply available from The Knitting Gift Shop.

Requires :  2 x 25g Ball Shades of Weardale Merino 4ply Yarn (yardage 25g -115m/125y) 

1 x 2.75mm(UK12 -US2) and 1 x 3.25mm(UK10 -USA 3) 40cm circular knitting needles(in the round version) or straight needles for knit flat version, 1 x stitch marker

Size when finished :  To fit average ladies head (approx 51cm(20in) x 21.50cm(8 1/2in) without stretch

Difficulty :  Intermediate - knowledge of basic/cable stitches (T2R, T2L), simple shaping, instructions for ‘knitting in the round’ and ‘knit flat’
