About Me

Hi, I'm Tricia, I live in Wear Valley, County Durham, I've been knitting since I was five years old and it's been my full time occupation for the past 10 years.

You might know me as one half of The Knitting Gift Shop which I run along with my husband Ian, and it was setting up the Knitting Gift Shop which prompted me to start designing knitting patterns for the kits that we use in our gift hampers and gift sets.

My designs are an eclectic mix of handwarmers, scarves, cowls, bags, shawls, hats and accessories, but they all have one thing in common they are written to be as easy as possible to understand for the knitter using them regardless of ability and wherever possible I use diagrams and charts alongside the written patterns.

I'm very excited to be moving forward and getting my designs out to a wider audience and over the next few months I'll be adding lots more knitting patterns both new and from my back catalogue of work.

I hope you enjoy browsing through the website and would be delighted if you could follow me on my socials and newsletter.

Rosebud Shawl

'Rosebud' is a beautiful asymmetric shawl design featuring garter stitch with lace panels and a scalloped lace edge incorporating knitted rosebuds with a pearl centre resulting in an elegant shawl with beautiful texture, softness and drape. The yarn used is Shades of Weardale Luxury 4Ply available from The Knitting Gift Shop. Can be knit on either straight needles or a small circular.

Basketweave Scarf

When designing this I had in mind it would make an ideal beginner project. It uses only knit and purl stitches but the finished result is a lovely scarf with a beautiful texture. The yarn used is Organic Merino DK available from The Knitting Gift Shop.
